Senior Programs:

Come join the Gilpin Seniors! Make new friends, rekindle old friendships and learn something new. The Gilpin County Senior Program, ages 60+, is a great way to enjoy time with others, eat nutritious meals and experience fun events.

We also offer FREE Transportation!

Door to door for Gilpin County Seniors:

  • Medical/Dental Appointments
  • All Senior Lunches
  • Weekly Grocery Shopping

Please call well in advance for appointments. We request 24-hour advance notice for transport to luncheons and grocery shopping.

Free Senior Fitness Classes:
Adult Strengthen, Stretch and Balance
Wednesdays & Fridays  11:00-12:00Pm
This fitness class is designed for Mid and Mature Adults to enhance cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, range of motion and balance.  While much of the focus will be on strengthening, flexibility and improvement of functional capabilities, we will also work on coordination and body awareness to enhance quality of life.
Instructor:  Beckie Dimauro on Wednesday and Linza Douglas on Friday
Senior Lunches:
Enjoy lunch with others from your community! Join us for lunch and interesting informational seminars, health clinics, and the monthly birthday parties at the Gilpin County Community Center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. RSVP REQUIRED by 4:00pm one business day before lunch. A $2.50 donation for luncheons is greatly appreciated. Call for details: Mary Ellen Makosky 303-582-5444.

Grocery Shopping:

Need help getting to the grocery store? Join the Senior program every Tuesday to get your groceries for the week and eat lunch with the gang. There are weekly shopping trips to either Bergen Park King Soopers, Idaho Springs Safeway, or the Bergen Park Wal-Mart.
